Recipe of the Week #2: Creamy Hot Chocolate

Creamy Hot Chocolate

This rich cup of cocoa is the perfect drink to accompany long nights of studying during exam season. In fact, it even makes the thought of an extended winter bearable! It is a simple (but flavourful!) way to get your chocolate cravings satisfied without having to put in too much effort. 🙂

Here are the ingredients for a creamy cup of cocoa!

For 1 cup, include:

1 cup milk

2 squares of dark chocolate

1 tsp (heaped) cocoa powder

A pinch (or 1/2 stick) of cinnamon

A pinch of salt

Splash of cream

Honey to taste

 

Method:

  • Pour milk into a small saucepan and bring to a low-medium heat.
  • Add all ingredients to the hot milk and whisk until the chocolate has melted and the cocoa powder has dissolved. If using a cinnamon stick, let it simmer for 5 minutes in order to get out the most flavour.
  • Pour into a mug and add whipped cream or a sprinkle of cinnamon.
  • Enjoy!
